About this place

Cuisine should be based, according to the philosophy of the Mercato restaurant, on food products that best represent the tradition of the Pomerania region, grown, fished or bred exclusively in this area and no further than 100 km from Gdansk, in line with the latest ‘farm-to-table’ culinary trend. The dominant tastes on the menu have been inspired by old recipes used by the local people who lived in Gdansk, now rearranged and adapted to suit the modern vision and the newest culinary techniques mastered by Chef Adam Wozniak. With the new menu served at Mercato we have endeavoured to capture and highlight the multicultural and metropolitan aspects of Gdansk’s culinary culture, not observed at such scale in any other Polish city.

The main menu changes four times a year, as the calendar seasons come and go. A short seasonal menu is introduced every week to feature dishes prepared with seasonal produce that are not available on an ongoing basis.
